Matt hosts the 90210 Ho Ho Ho Holiday Celebration Benefiting Toys For Tots

Yesterday Matt hosted the 90210 Ho Ho Ho Holiday Celebration Benefiting Toys For Tots.  Toys For Tots is such a great cause and it's nice to see Matt involved with it.  So many families are struggling out there and simply cannot afford to give their children the luxury of toys for Christmas.  That's where Toys For Tots comes in and plays Santa.  They (the Marines) do so much good during this time of year, bringing joy and a smile to the children in the community who are less fortunate.  Way to go Matt for giving back in such a great way!

Liam Rewind: "Holiday Madness"

Matt tweeted this picture of him and Shenae filming the scene at the end!
Can I just start by saying OMG!  Wow!  This was a great episode.  What a great mid-season finale.  And I'm not just talking about the parts with Matt.  But I'm so over this diva Adrianna.  She is getting soooo annoying.  This episode definitely left me with my jaw dropping with all that happened.  An episode that leaves you hanging, is a good episode in my book.  Now let's get on the the Liam rewind.

Once again there wasn't a whole lot of Liam this week but the scenes there were of him were so juicy.  I mean were sooooo sooooo good.  After learning Liam was in the hospital, Annie and Dixon bring him home with them so someone can watch over him.  Charlie stops by to check on Liam after he overhears the conversation between Annie and Dixon about Liam being in the hospital.   The moment Liam sees Charlie walk through the door him mood dramatically change.  Charlie obviously makes Liam tick and the reason has to do with more than just what happened in the past.

Matt at the A/X and NYLON Magazine Dinner

On Thursday night, December 9th, Armani Exchange and NYLON Magazine held a private dinner at The Redbury Hotel in Hollywood to celebrate the December/January issue.  Matt, along with other members of the cast of 90210, were just a few of the celebrity guests in attendance.  Here are some pics from the event courtesy of 90210-media.org

Liam Rewind: "Best Lei'd Plans"

We saw the most of Liam that we have seen in weeks.  Thank you 90210 for finally giving us our Liam fix.  The withdrawals were getting pretty bad.  But I can actually say that I am satisfied for the week.  And very glad we got to see so much Matt this week.  Let's hope this is the end of the "Lack of Lanter" streak that has plagued this season.  What ever will I do during the hiatus that will be here after Mondays episode?

There's a lot to talk and see this week so let's start the rewind.

Thankful of Matt Lanter

Tis the season the be thankful.  What am I thankful for???  Well, amongst the things I am thankful for is that God blessed Matt Lanter with such great talent and allows him to be able to share his great talent with all of us.  Thank God for giving us an actor who is not only talented, but is a truly great guy with a great heart.  I'm thankful that we all are able to know who he is.  Enjoy the all latest pictures of Matt, there's a lot, and be thankful he is who he is :)

Liam Rewind: "They're Playing Her Song"

And the streak continues...Maybe I should change this to the "Liam Rant".  Right when you thought it wasn't possible to have any less Liam than there already was, the writers of 90210 proved me wrong by showing even less Liam than in previous weeks.  Less than two minutes of Liam this week, I think we are lucky if there was a minute.  There isn't really much to say.  The only time we saw Liam this week is when he is having lunch with Teddy and Dixon.  Even then, the kept panning away from him.  I think the extra playing the waitress had an equal amount of screen time as him.  What is going on?  Matt's part this week was essentially like that of an extra, he only had a few lines.  The only difference between him and the extra is the talent that he brings.  Even in those brief moment we were fortunate enough to have seen Liam, he was completely was spot on and shinned.  Which goes to show there is no such thing as small parts.  With that cliche, there is such things as not having enough screen time.  The only positive is the fact that Matt steals the screen every time his is on.  What is the show thinking not giving us more Matt Lanter.  I can't be the only one that thinks he plays a huge role in drawing people in.  But I have a little hope that we will see more Matt once the show comes back in the new year.  Matt tweeted this week that he was filming with Evan Ross, which hopefully means the storyline we've all been wondering about will be unraveled and more screen time for Matt!

More Golfing Fun With Matt

As I posted yesterday, Matt went golfing with Bubba Watson.  Here's an article posted on the Travis Mathew website. How fun would it have been to see this!?!

Bubba Watson and Matt Lanter
November 12th, 2010
Before Bubba Watson left Southern California yesterday to head back to his home in Scottsdale, he met up with actor Matt Lanter for a round of golf at Shady Canyon Golf Club. The two got in touch through Twitter and Bubba made it a point to get together during his time here at the Travis Mathew offices.
Matt Lanter is currently playing the role of Liam Court on the CW’s hit show “90210”. He is also the voice of Anakin Skywalker for the animated series “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” Matt recently played the role of Edward Sullen in the comedy “Vampires Suck”. Along with the CW’s “90210”, You can see Matt in 2011 starring next to “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester in the thriller “Roomate”. Read is full bio here http://www.cwtv.com/shows/90210/cast/matt-lanter and make sure to follow him on twitter at @mattlanter.
Travis Mathew is proud to support Matt Lanter and we are very glad that Bubba introduced us to him. We are excited to follow his continued success and look forward to seeing him in the future.

Golfing Fun With Matt

In case you haven't noticed, Matt likes to golf.  As one who likes to play and watch golf, I always find it ever so interesting when Matt tweets golf stuff.  The other day he tweeted these photos during his downtime while shooting.  And may I say that's a really nice sand wedge that Matt uses.
@MattLanter:  What do you do when your shooting on the beach and have downtime?......work on your bunker shots of course!

The golf fun does not end with those photos.  Today Bubba Watson tweeted this today:

@bubbawatsonGoing to play golf with @MattLanter! I bet he beats @Tom_Belshaw 96 1st time we played golf together!!! #urwelcome

Can I just say how much I would love and I mean love the opportunity to watch them play.  In case you don't know who Bubba Watson is, he is a PGA golfer who had a pretty good year.  This would be so awesome to see.  And I really want to see Matt play, I'm sure he's good, probably not Bubba Watson good, but good.  Golf lessons from Matt Lanter, now that would be a dream come true.  Who knew the one thing that would pull my eyes off of Matt Lanter if he was in my view would be a golf ball.

Liam Rewind: "Mother Dearest"

Oh the bro-mance that is between the guys on 90210 is so fun to watch.  It always brings out a different side of Liam, a more fun and relaxed side.  The first time we see Liam is when he, Dixon, and Navid are about to go catch some waves.  It is nice to see Liam without psyco Laura.  We learn that Liam told Laura that he would deal with her, but not the bags.  Good for Liam for steering clear of that mess and having no part in Laura's drug dealing business.  I must say I am a little disappointed that they did nothing with that storyline.  It had a lot of potential to be something interesting, but they really cut it off short.  Then again, we they never showed what happened at the end of last season with Liam either.  But maybe, that isn't the end of it.  Maybe Laura may find herself in a mess and Liam won't be able not to get himself involved.  Who knows.  It was nice to see Liam not so serious.  It was also quite funny when you see how awkward Liam and Navid are every time Ivy came around, clearly Dixon had told them what had happened.  In this episode I really saw Liam as a high school student.  He really seemed to be having fun in this episode and even a little excited when at the red carpet.

However, once again Liam's screen time was three minutes, maybe less.  I really do not understand why this is.  It leaves me somewhat dumbfounded that Matt Lanter is not being used more.  Last season he had more of a starring role, and may I go as far as saying he was the leading man.  But this season, he has really had a supporting role and is more in the shadows.  We hardly get to see him.  And it is not like he doesn't have a storyline.  The show introduces his half-brother yet, have barely revealed anything.  While I love the show, I am disappointed to see so little of Matt.  I don't know what the show and the writers are thinking not giving Matt more scenes.  He is such a talented actor and does make the scenes he is in shine.  I just feel they need to utilize his talents more.  Just by watching the scenes he has, you can see how great Matt is at what he does.  I know I am sounding like a broken record the way I rant about this.  My hope is that in the new year we will be seeing much more Matt!

Question:  Has there been an episode where Liam hasn't had his shirt off!?!

Matt at the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk

Check out the pictures Matt posted on his twitter page this morning of him at the Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk.  Too bad we can't hear what Matt said during his speech.  I truly believe that Matt is one of the sweetest guys who has a heart of gold.  This is a really cool too see Matt part of such a great cause.  In my opinion Matt is the embodiment of awesomesauce.

Is that a Falcons' hat I see Matt sporting???  I believe it is.

The Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. To learn more about the Alzheimer's Association or to make a donation, visit their website.

Zink Magazine Article

If you click on the picture you'll be able to zoom in and actually read the article.  Matt looks gorgeous in the these photographs, but you have to give major credit to Elias Tahan for taking such amazing pictures.  I am absolutely in love with his work.  Elias' work really is breathtaking, don't you agree?

Liam Rewind: "I See London, I See France..."

What is it going to take to get more Liam on 90210???  Last week his name was in the episode's title and was still hardly on it.  If you were to fast forward and watch the scenes with Liam, you'd be done in three minutes tops.  It is not like Liam doesn't have a storyline, so why are we hardly seeing Liam?  Will our questions ever get answered?  Or will we continue to just ask more?  However, Matt is outstanding during the scenes that he does have.  The scenes are always memorable and leave you wanting more.  Matt does such a great job at portraying Liam, that the audience always knows exactly what it going on with Liam.  Matt is so talented, I really wish we would see more of him.  I'll stop with my ranting and tackle last night's episode.

If you were to fill in the blank for the rest of that phrase, it would be "I see Liam's underwear."  Last night's episode drew you in instantly.  And almost had you believing that we would be seeing more Liam this week, but once again they were only teasing us.  The episode began with Laura watching Liam sleep.  Creepy right?  Once again the show has managed to work Liam without a shirt on again.  Has there been an episode this season where Liam hasn't had his shirt off???  I wonder how Matt feels about this?

What Star Wars and 90210 Have In Common

Here's an interview USA Weekend did with Matt Lanter:

Matt Lanter Brings 'Star Wars' and '90210' Fans togethger
October 25, 2010/By:  Brian Truitt

For a whole group of people — most of whom are probably young and female — Matt Lanter is the hot young star of the CW’s soapy Monday night series 90210, playing tortured bad boy Liam. For a whole other audience, he’s the voice of Anakin Skywalker — the young, headstrong Jedi who will one day turn into the evil Darth Vader — in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, now in its third season airing Fridays on Cartoon Network. (The second season comes out on Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow.) Disparate roles and fan bases indeed, but Lanter feels blessed being a part of both. I spoke with the 27-year-old actor about his roles on both series and his place in the Star Wars universe, so read below for our conversation and check out some behind-the-scenes video of Lanter as Anakin

Five Reasons to Watch 90210

Lanterholics, not that we need five reasons to watch 90210, but here Matt gives USmagazine.com five reasons to watch 90210. Sounds like Liam will be dealing with a lot this season.  Hopefully, this slump of "Lack of Lanter" will be ending starting with tonight's "How Much is That Liam in the Window".  Odd how Liam constantly without a shirt didn't make the cut of reasons...

Matt For Favorite TV Drama Actor

The nominations for the 2011 People's Choice Awards are now open.  There is someone absent from the Favorite TV Drama Actor category that definitely deserves to be on there.  That person would be Matt Lanter.  His portrayal of Liam Court on 90210 is nothing short of being amazing.  If you've watched 90210 and have seen some of his other work, you know how fantastic of an actor he is and how truly talented Matt is.  I believe that Matt is just as worthy and deserving to be nominated as the those that are listed.  In my opinion, Matt has more than proved that he is deserving based on season 2 and even this season (though there has been a lack of Lanter).  Even if he didn't win at least he would know how his fans love and appreciate him and his work.  We need to make sure Matt's work does not go unnoticed.  II think we can all agree on all of these things.  That is why as a Lanterhoic, it is your responsibility to help Matt get nominated by writing in his name in the write-in option.  Just think about it, wouldn't it be cool to know that you played a part in that?  Matt deserves an award for his talent and we can help him to get one.  That is the great thing about the People's Choice Awards, it is chosen by the people, by the fans.  You can do your part and vote for Matt Lanter at http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/nominations/

With almost 100k followers on twitter, Matt does not have a shortage of fans.  If everyone would take the time to write his name in and vote, I think we should have a good chance of getting him nominated.  So make sure to do your part and vote.  And if you feel the need to vote once a day or more, go for it.  Every vote will help the cause.  Make your voice be heard and let them know we want to see Matt nominated in that category.  I'm starting to sound like a campaign manager so I'm going to stop.  Vote to nominate Matt Lanter for Favorite TV Drama Actor!!!

So Matt just tweeted this:

@MattLanter:  Wow, I'm just a few clicks away from having 100k followers. I'm giddy like a little school girl. But seriously, i'm flattered! thanks!

First of all, let me just start with this tweet cracked me up.  People must think I am weird because I'll be reading his tweets and I just start laughing out loud.  Sometimes I just can't help it.  There was no hope of keeping any laughter in after reading "I'm giddy like a little school girl."  Matt always has a way with words that manages to make me laugh.  The image I got when I read that is, is really what had me laughing.  Matt deserves as the fans and success that is coming his way.  He's a little more  than a few clicks away, but with a little help he'll be there before we know it.  Let's help Matt out and get him to that 100k followers.

Filming Out on the Town

Here is a couple more pictures of Matt filming in LA.  I wonder what is going on in Liam's head...

Matt Filming with Jessica Lowndes

Yesterday the lovely Jessica Lowndes posted this adorable picture on her twitter (@realjlowndes) of Matt and her filming.  Her caption for the pic "Filming with @mattlanter...Isn't he a stud muffin?"  Jessica, I couldn't agree more with that statement.  He is indeed a stud muffin.  But I must say, Jessica Lowndes is pretty amazing herself.  I mean that voice, wow.  It is safe to say 90210 may have the most attractive cast :)

Matt on Better

While in New York, Matt had mentioned on his twitter that he had done a interview on Better TV.  Thanks to mattlanteronline.com who shared the video of that interview.  Matt dishes on the a little on 90210 and what may be ahead for Liam's love life.  Rumor has it that the girl who one Liam in the action may just be a bit obsessed, or just crazy about Liam.  He does have a way of making the ladies a bit crazy.  We can all agree that Liam deserves a little happiness.  Don't you just want to give him a hug when you see him hurting?  Okay, check out the video below of Matt's interview.

Hello, I'm a Lanterholic

Matt Lanter fans need a catchy name to call ourselves. I tweeted this awhile back and it actually inspired another Matt Lanter fan to blog about it. There were ideas for names that were thrown around, but there was no vote or consensus on what exactly we should call ourselves. I believe that Matt deserves a fan base that has a name for them. Every "big" celebrity has one right? It would only be fitting that Matt's die-hard fans would have a name to go by. A way of classifying ourselves. Of course it has to be catchy because who would want to go by something that wasn't. But, it also needs to be fitting. My personal favorite is of course Lanterholics. It's catchy and it describes exactly who we are. We are people who are who absolutely love and support Matt and simply cannot get enough of him. We are addicted! There were a few others that I liked but this one has stuck with me personally. With this name there are so many things you can play on with. For instance there would of course be the creation of Lanterholic Anonymous (LA) meetings. Lanterholism is a real addiction with no cure. We need all the support we can get. Haha.

What Could Have Been

Matt Lanter was on the "Whatever Show with Alexis and Jennifer" last week where he revealed to the ladies that he had audtitioned for the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight, but was told he wasn't "hauntingly beautiful" enough for the role.  Is the casting director blind?  Sounds like someone needs to get their eyes checked.  I couldn't agree more with the ladies, Matt is indeed much better looking than Robert Pattinson.  Had Matt the role, Kristen Stewart probably wouldn't be Bella, and the movies would be so much better, but that is a whole other story.   Here's a clip of Matt talking about this on the Whatever Show.

How Much is that Liam in the Window

Here's a few more pics, plus, the preview for new episode of 90210 on October 25th.

Can we all say YUM together now.  Yes, once again Liam will be without a shirt.  I'm starting to wonder if girls are just hiding his shirts so he has to go without one.  Or maybe he just needs someone to do his laundry.  I would imagine things being tough when you are living out of your car.  Honestly, is anyone complaining about it?  I'm going to go with NO!!!  Matt has an amazing body, now that is a situation. haha.

Matt's Disney Crush...awww...

Check out this feature from Hollywood Life:
Matt doesn’t just PLAY a cartoon character on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, he also LOVES cartoon characters — specifically, Aladdin’s Princess Jasmine!
90210 star Matt Lanter’s favorite Disney moving growing up was Aladdin — but not just because he’s a sucker for toe-tapping musical numbers. Matt admits he had the hots the movie’s leading lady, Princess Jasmine! “Jasmine is my cartoon crush,” Matt, 27, told HollywoodLife.com exclusively Oct. 7 at his Hand Print Ceremony at NYC’s Planet Hollywood Times Square. “Those sheer little top things she had on … yeah, basically what I’m saying is Jasmine is my crush!”
“Aladdin is just a great story,” Matt continued. “Aladdin was just a fun character who kind of came up with nothing and ended up with the with the princess.”

And Matt’s love of Disney movies continues, as he’s providing the voice of Sled in Tinker Bell and the Mysterious Winter Woods, scheduled to be released in 2011.

“The best part about voiceover work in general is that it’s a whole different side of the industry and all the voiceover actors are so cool and down to earth,” Matt told us. “You don’t have to put on a face. You just be real with them. … It’s so cool because I get to be creative in two completely separate outlets, One being on camera, and one as a different world where you have to use your voice and have to express what the character is feeling.”

Matt Lanter on Tim Tebow

@MattLanter: Yes I'm a Bulldog, and yes he's a Gator, but @timtebow is a class act and and a great rep for Him. I hope this guy has a long NFL career.

Sometimes Matt tweets things that really just stick with me.  They burn themselves into my mind.  He tweeted this a few weeks ago in response to people questioning about it once Matt started to follow Tim Tebow.  In case you don't understand why this would raise any questions, it is because Matt went to Georgia and Tim went to Florida, they are both SEC schools and in a sense, very much rivals in sports.  I really loved Matt's response.  What he chooses to tweet really reveals something about who he is.  I love and respect Tim Tebow.  He's such and amazing guy who isn't afraid to stand up for what he believes in.  Tebow is open and honest about his faith and isn't afraid to let people know.  You have to respect the guy for that.  I agree completely with Matt says about Tebow and I love the fact that he says it.  What really grabbed my attention is when Matt says, "a great rep for Him."  I had to read it again to make sure I read it right.  My first reaction was does that mean what I think it does?  Of course it does.  If I wasn't completely won over by Matt before, I was at this very moment.  I had wondered when he posted that picture of the word 'Salvation' as to why he posted that and even more when he replied to my tweet on my interpretation of the picture as to what his faith was.  If this picture had a deeper meaning to him.  Then I read about how he goes to church when he goes home.  So I thought well, maybe he really is a Christian.  When Matt made that statement and revealed his faith, I really did form this new kind of respect for him.  I love him even more for that.  Right when I think Matt can't get any more amazing than he already is, he does.

The Magnetism of Matt

When you think of Matt Lanter what comes to mind?  What attracts you to him?  Is it those gorgeous blue eyes or that brilliant smiles of his that lures you in?  Perhaps it is just his looks in general, the whole package.  Whether is is his acting or his looks that draw you in, but there is much more to Matt.  it is when you dig a little deeper and expose yourself to who Matt really is, is what keeps you from leaving.

There is a quality that Matt has that draws fans in and causes them to adore him.  It is a quality that that you don't see a lot.  Matt may play a bad boy, but he really is genuinely a nice guy.  He seems so sweet and down-to-earth.  One can clearly see how grounded and humble this guy is.  His character really speaks for itself.  It is not wonder why people are so attracted to him.  They really don't have any choice in the matter once they learn more about him.  He is the type of guy that every women hopes to meet and marry.  He is also that guy that you really want to meet, become friends with, and just hang out with.  If you know anything about Matt, you probably know that he is funny.  Matt has an incredible sense of humor and is laugh out loud funny.  The dry, sarcastic humor is what I love the most from him.  A guy that is hot, sweet, and funny, Matt is really the total package.

Even though I've never met Matt, I do believe for all these things to be true.  You can build a pretty strong foundation as to who he is by what you read and what others say about him.  I think it would be safe to say there would be a general consensus about all of this.  However, for me there is something more.  For awhile i have been trying to figure out what attracts me to Matt Lanter.  There was some mystery as to why I have become such a huge fan.  All the things mentioned above were contributing factors.  But there was something else about him that I couldn't quite put my finger on it or put it into words.  Then I finally hit me.  What has made me the fan I am is respect.  I respect Matt and the work he does as an actor and I respect him as a person.  Not to often do I find myself have actual respect for a celebrity or really admire them.  Matt is really genuinely an amazing guy.  I like him a lot, what else can I say.

Whole Lot of Liam

Is it just me or has Liam spent a lot of time this season shirtless!?!  He hasn't been in the episodes a whole lot, but the scenes he has been in he tends to be shirtless in most of them.  Not that anyone is complaining, the show can feel free to forget a shirt whenever they want.  Poor Matt having to constantly have to be shirtless, I'm sure he wouldn't mind wearing a shirt once in awhile, and honestly neither would I.  It's not that I don't like seeing Liam shirtless, it's just that I also like seeing Liam's style.  Style is part of a character and you really can't get that when he's shirtless.  I would say winter is coming and he might get a bit cold roaming about without a shirt but we all know there is no real winter in So Cal.  So I'll just take in the view and enjoy it.  Maybe Liam can warm things up for the rest of us once it's gets cold.

New Matt Page

Since I type about Matt so much I decided that I would create a blog dedicated to all things Matt Lanter.  Hopefully I'll be updating the page often.  I really created it just as a place to share my thoughts and opinions (all of them being good) on Matt Lanter as informing people about him.  Hope y'all will enjoy all that is to come.
